10 Months!!

On Christmas Day, John Ashton turned 10 Months!! Once again it is hard to believe how fast his first year is going by. We know that John Ashton was designed to be a blessing and that Parenthood is God's gift to John and I. What a blessing he has been.  I am not saying that we don't have our moments....oh there are moments of frustration, impatience, and moments of being down right tired, but the happiness, the fulfillment, and the satisfaction John Ashton brings us far out weighs those moments. Thank you God for the blessing of John Ashton.

Ashton continues to amaze us each and everyday with something new! On Christmas morning he surprised us with his first tooth! We knew it was coming due to the change in his sleep, his nasty nose, and he was just a little fussy! It was so exciting and he has since popped out another tooth. He is still on a good schedule during the day and continues to sleep well at night. The biggest change is in his diet...we started REAL deal solids. He eats basically whatever we eat in smaller bites of course. Turkey, chicken, peas, carrots, green beans, corn, lima beans, diced apples, blueberries, bananas, strawberries, and his new favorite blackberries!! He still loves his cheerios!! He only eats baby food mixed with his oatmeal for breakfast now. He is doing a great job with the different foods.
Pulling to stand is second nature now and he has been seen taking a step or two around the coffee table but thats about it in the walking department. He is playing with all his new toys and even has a favorite book now! He still loves playing with his football and we introduced a basketball after Christmas. He loves to chase those around the house.
He is in to everything and goes from cleaning out the tupperware drawer, to emptying his toy basket, to clearing the coffee table, to unrolling the toilet paper! Needless to say my job is to follow him around most of the day, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!! HE is busy, busy, busy!!! He is still babbling, with the occasional "dada". MiMi taught him to click his tongue which is his newest thing, and if we ask him what a fish says he smacks his lips and then clicks his tongue! He is waving and at times waves bye-bye. Ashton also gets so excited when John comes in from work and it is so cute to see his face light up and then he bounces up and down then crawls straight to him. I know it sure makes John feel special. Who wouldn't feel special coming home to that?!?!

The first 10 months have been lots of fun and we can't wait to see what this new year holds!! We love you so much John Ashton!!
